Pacific Rim AU

AU thoughts

It isn't super developed but here are some ideas I had considered at one point or another while doodling these.

• The "kidnapped by Thanos" equivalent in this AU I think would be a kaiju attack that devasted the area they lived in and killed their families. Nebula and Gamora survived this and ended up in the foster system, which is where they met.
• They grew close enough to stick together after aging out of the foster system, where they promptly signed up to be Jaeger pilots.
• They eventually became co-pilots. Their Jaeger was (tentatively) named "Star Assassin."
• Although a successful team for a time, they eventually hit some bad luck and they are overwhelmed by a kaiju, their jaeger badly damaged and they're both severely injured, although Nebula gets the worst of it.
• Gamora eventually recovers enough to resume piloting, but Nebula's recovery is longer. Gamora is eventually partnered with a new co-pilot in the meantime. Nebula develops a lot of resentment. Doesn't return to piloting jaegers after recovering (maybe attempted to at first but was having difficulty drifting/finding a new co-pilot? refused to co-pilot with Gamora again and/or had difficulty drifting with her following their loss?)
